In December, Mr. Miao, a process engineer of Luwei Technology Department, developed a semi-automatic welding tool for round pipes based on the slow welding speed, uneven welding seam and poor quality of round pipe butt welding, using scrap and idle equipment, after a week of production, debugging, and trial production.

The tooling uses a motor to drive gears to drive the round tube on the tooling to ensure that the product rotates at a constant speed. The automatic welding machine is moved to the butt weld for automatic welding. The welded bead is uniform in width, beautiful in appearance, and qualified in UT inspection.

The successful development of semi-automatic welding tooling for round pipes provides quality assurance for butt welding of round pipes.
